Hot and muggy, what should we do... - Surfing with pros - Soul Surfer

It was HOT today! It was one of those muggy day with high humidity. So what do we do when it's like that? We jump in the ocean and surf! It didn't matter that the waves weren't that great, bunch of kids were out in full force today at Kewalos.

Joy, Jenna, Keana, Daniel, Justin, and Tristan.

Devin was there too but he wasn't around when i took the photo so this one is from another day when he got new headphone from his sponsor Aerial7.

The birthday boy Kaulana showed up too. He's now 13, a teenager! I told him to give me a teenager pose and this is what he did... just stood there. ha ha.

It's ok Kaulana, you are still new to being a teenager. you'll have some better teenage poses soon.

Happy Birthday Big Man!

Remember I talked about surfing is different than any other sports since kids can surf with pro surfers they look up to?

Well, today was one of days again.

When i got there, Coco Ho was out there surfing. (no photo since i paddled out to surf and she paddled in while i was out there.)

She's been busy going to Boys and Girls Club Hawaii to support her community. Check out this video! I think it's amazing to see young surfer giving back. Great job Coco!

In the afternoon, Carissa Moore came to surf with her sister Cayla. Carissa is such a nice person. She spends her time to talk to eveyone who approaches her to say "hi". And trust me, everyone comes up to her to say "hi" to her.
I heard Cayla got a speaking part in Bethany Hamilton's movie "Soul Surfer"! So stoked for her.

There are lot of surfer girls who are in the movie as surfer doubles. I heard Jenna acted the part when Bethany was getting attacked by a shark.

Speaking of "Soul Surfer" if you haven't seen it, Kamehameha School Surfers' Give Back club is having a fundraiser private screening of the movie for Sion Milosky's family on April 15th at Kahala Theaters at 7pm. Tickets are $12 each and money will be donated to Milosky family.

If you want to go, email Learce@ksbe.edu.

I'm hearing lot of good things about the movie so make sure you go check it out!

In the evening time, Jason Shibata paddled out. The hardest working guy in the industry and just plain nice guy. He's always willing to help out anyone.
Lot of times when surfers change sponsors, they look weird with different logo but Jason fits really well with his new sponsor Volcom. Like i said before, Volcom scored getting Jason!

The waves weren't that good but we all had great day and the kids got to surf with pros they look up to. Another amazing day here in Hawaii!

HSA Maili Point is ON for now. I'll post an update tomorrow around 530am when they make their final call.
