Last night i went to dinner with my ex, Christie, for our annual dinner at Irifune. If you have never been to Irifune, you need to check it out! i love this place. Amazing food, the owner, Toshi, is a surfer, and it's BYOB.
I guess she didn't want me to take a photo of her... she tried to cover her face but i'm too fast! ha ha.
Some kids were tripping out that i was going to dinner with my ex, but she was the reason why i'm here in Hawaii.
Christie told me that she wants to move to Hawaii 7 years ago when we lived in California. I was happy in Cali but hey, gotta do what you gotta do to keep your girl happy, right? So i sold my business and pretty much everything i owned and moved to Hawaii 7 years ago yesterday. We moved here with what we can bring on the plane, we had no plans, no jobs, and no friends.
7 years later we are no longer together but she has a solid career at Colliers Monroe Friedlander (a commercial real estate company) as a project manager and i am still broke doing Novus Swell and surf photography. ha ha.
i owe her everything! we were together for 9 years and she taught me a lot and i think i probably be would have been in jail at least 10 times if she didn't keep me in check. ha ha. if it wasn't for her, i'd have never moved here and met all the great people i've met over the years and doing what i love doing for living working for myself.
thank you Christie and i know all the kids thank you too for bringing me out to Hawaii!
Right outside of Irifune, i saw this attached to a rubbish can.
what a great idea! now people can put the cans and bottles in this and someone who wants to recycle can grab them without going through other trash in the rubbish can.
i love the sign too. it's so Hawaii! ha ha.
Today, i picked up bunch of kids from all over the place! my first pick up was at 12:55pm and we got to Kewalos at 3pm since i picked up kids from their schools and went to their houses to grab their surfboards. you can thank Christie if you ever see her for your rides to the beach all the time. ha ha.
The surf wasn't the best but i can see there's new swell starting to show up a little by the evening time.
after our surf session, Jenna Forti decided to give Kaito Kino a haircut since his hair was long and getting out of control!
it was so funny cuz i don't think Jenna even knows how to cut hair. ha ha.
Jenna did a great job tho. we were all impressed!
this is how Kaito's hair looked like before.
I went to Kaito's house for a bbq for Genki and Takako. (Kaito's brother and his newly wed wife!) Great people, tons of great food (Kaito's dad is a chef at Nobu!), and lot of great conversations. Thank you Kino family!
i'm going to have a long weekend with a contest and other commitments so maybe i'll try to catch up on my work tomorrow. but call me up if the waves in town are fun! i can always take a few hour break since i'm the boss! ha ha.
