I went to Access Surf's "Day at the Beach" today with bunch of kids! Access Surf provide a fun day at the beach for physically and mentally disabled people.
We wanted to be at White Plains by 7am so i picked up some kids from Hawaii Kai and town at 545am. it was a quiet ride since everyone was still half sleep but when we got there, kids were all awake and ready to work! Tons of groms showed up to help today.
Setup was really fast with 20+ kids helping out!

Setting up wasn't the most fun thing to do but non of the kids complained.
These kids are competitive! when they see someone working hard, they want to work harder!

Sister (Kelia Moniz) couldn't get in the water because of her surgery on her shoulder but she was helping out with food prep all day!
Not only surfing but it was all about meeting new people and making sure everyone's having fun. so some of younger groms were playing with participants while they wait for their turn to go surf.

Kaito was little nervous at first but once he's out there he was doing great!

This little girl was super shy and quiet, but after a surf session with Kaito and Gen, she was running around all stoked!
Billabong team manager Rainos Hayes was in the water all day! he must've taken out like 10 people through out the day!
Geoff was out there all day too.

Party wave! These groms are natural at taking people out surfing. i was super impressed.
Dana Tortuga's old enough to take people out so when participants are more comfortable with girls helping out, Dana was there to help.
There was a part of beach for swimming too and Kylen was helping out there. This kid was so stoked on Kylen, he was following Kylen all day. I think Kylen ended up taking him surfing too!
Time to clean up.
I can't believe how many kids showed up to help on their day off and i was so impressed how everyone was working super hard all day! Thanks guys and girls!
I know lot of mainstream media talk about how the youth today are lazy and no good. They are so WRONG! These kids woke up before sunrise and worked hard all day and i never heard any of then complain even once today!
