It was a Mahina Maeda day today. I picked her up early and went to Kewalos in the morning. The condition was perfect but still long wait between sets. Not too many people out so we pretty much got any waves we wanted!
when we came in Derek Wong, Kylen Yamakawa, Kaito Kino, and Keenan Seguancia showed up. The tide was super low and the waves weren't as good as earlier so we just hanged out at the beach with them for a while.
Mahina's sponsor Rusty's team manager, Geoff Wong, met up with us and went to Rusty's warehouse after lunch to meet up with Rusty rep Ernie Yagi to pick up a box of goodies for Mahina.
i think Mahina is ready to take over this place! ha ha.
While Geoff and Rusty rep Ernie was having a meeting, i started stealing some cool Rusty magnets i found for Mahina.
Ernie caught me stealing the magnets tho. he disappeared for a while and came back with a
Crusty the Rusty inflatable punching doll/bag thing for Mahina to take home! good thing Ernie saw me stealing those magnets, ha ha. i think he saw Mahina being all stoked about them made him want to hook her up with something really cool!
Mahina scored today! Box of Rusty clothes, Crusty the Rusty punching bag, and some cool magnets! Thanks Ernie! and Mahina, you can thank me for those magnets later. ha ha.
some of you already know that i love cars. well, how's this one! Brand new black Chevy Camero SS. this thing is siiick! if i didn't have 30 kids, i'd consider getting something like this one for sure!
Mahina didn't want to, but i made her pose by the Camero. ha ha.
We went back to Kewalos and the waves were firing! Over head size sets, really consistent and the condition was super nice. as soon as we got there, Mahina was out there surfing before i can ask her if she wants to go surf. ha ha.
some more kids showed up and they were surfing their brains out for a long time.
when they came in, it was all about hanging out with friends until the parents were begging the kids to get in their cars so they can leave, a typical scene at Kewalos. ha ha.
Mahina and Malia Mizuno, post evening session snacks.
so like i said, today was a Mahina day! i think she had a great day, what do you think?
Tomorrow is a HSA contest at Kaka'ako Beach. I'll see you all there!
