Small waves, fun in the sun... and all of the sudden... HUGE WAVES

Huge swell is coming! (well, it's here already) Kids can't surf when the waves are too big so i went to north shore today before the waves got too big.

i guess i got there too early because the waves were tiny... ha ha. so instead of filming, i decided to jump in the water at Gums (at Ehukai beach park) hoping i get some shots.

something about sandy beach make kids want to dig holes... ha ha.

Japanese Surf1st Magazine photographer, super funny guy, Naoya "Kin-san" Kimoto was there documenting everything what goes on in Hawaii.

note to self... Mahina is too dark to shoot with sun in the back... ha ha.

My favorite photographer Mana came out to cool off. no fins, just a bodyboard (knowing him, he probably borrowed it from someone on the beach. ha ha) super cool guy and takes sick shots!

Kylie Nagy, Ocean Tsutsui, and India Pyzel came out to body surf and just play in the water. these girls were making me laugh the whole time i was out there!

i started shooting the girls going under the waves cuz the water was pretty clear today.

I didn't even noticed when i was shooting, but girls were getting pounded in the background! ha ha.

Once i came in and dried off, the waves got HUGE! still too much sand so Pipe was closing out but some waves where like 15+ ft face! it was like 4ft face waves and 10 minutes later, 15+ft!

i'll be up there again tomorrow! oh and don't forget, Eddie's Opening Ceremony at Waimea at 3pm!! it's an amazing very spiritual event so if you are here in Hawaii, you better check it out.
