I had stuff to do in town today so i stayed down here. i stopped by Kewalos after to check out how the waves are for tomorrow's contest at Rennicks.
It looked ok when i got there but decided to paddle out since i haven't surfed in a while.
The waves actually picked up and good after a while.
so glad i had my board!
and look who were there!
Heidi Choi and Joy Haynes. I haven't seen Heidi in so long since she's been busy with volleyball. it was really nice to see her.
Sister was there with her beast, Nala.
I'm telling you, this guy is a beast, well just to Zeke.
told you. ha ha.
Nala must have loved Zeke's truck. She (i think it's a she...) peed all over the truck's bed. haha.
I'm sure everyone heard that Kelly Slater won the Rip Curl Pro Search at Puerto Rico and secured his 10th World Title!
10x world champion, that is just nuts!
off of top of my head, i can think athletes who has 7 world titles, individual sports and not team sports.
Richard Petty (NASCAR), Dale Earnhardt Sr. (NASCAR) and Sebastien Loeb (WRC).
some people might count Lance Armstrong but cycling is not an individual sport. There are lot of team work goes into it (some of the legs are team events and even on individual legs, they do lot of blocking, drafting, etc) so i didn't count him in.
Sebastien Loeb is the only one who's still competing so he could get 10x world titles but still got 3 more to go. who know, Kelly might have 13 by then. haha. in case you are wondering what WRC is, its "World Rally Championship". Loeb has been dominating for a while now. he's been winning the titles since 2004 year after year.
So as far as i can think, there's been NOBODY in the world that hold 10 world titles in any individual sports but Kelly Slater. Amazing!

when i was driving today, i saw this one truck... can you see what's wrong?
well, that's a TOYOTA TACOMA with a huge Chevrolet on it. i know for a fact he didn't have a chevy engine in it (i've seen some people who've done the swap) cuz i didn't sound like a Chevy engine at all.
i have no idea why the guy did that... i was just thinking "hhmmmm... he just depreciated the value of that truck by half." ha ha.
tomorrow is an HSA event at Rennicks. I'll see you there!
oh, i'll take photos of the heat sheets and post it here on the site tomorrow. just so you don't need to be there at 7am if you are surfing at 3pm.
