Da Hui Beach Cleanup this weekend - my dream car?!?!

This weekend is Da Hui's Annual Beach Cleanup at Vland!

This event has been getting bigger and bigger every year. it's great cuz they not only clean one beach but clean the whole north shore beaches. after the cleanup, they always have tons of giveaways and games for kids.

This year the event will be dedicated to Andy Irons. i remember seeing Andy at this events all the time. He was there setting good example to the kids and remember being super friendly to all the kids, talking with them and taking photos together.

I better see you all the kids there! it's a great thing for us surfers keep OUR beaches clean and who knows, you might win some great goodies too!

i saw this Lexus LS 600h L today in town. I must say this is one of few new cars i like.

if you know me, you know i only like 80's and early 90's cars, but this one... i like it.

it's a v8 hybrid and just everything about it so sick. i think it costs something like $110k+ tho. i guess i need to make some $$$ first. ha ha.

well, enough dreaming... back to work.

Had a nice quick surf/meeting session at kewalos and stopped by 7-11 for a quick bite and look what I found!
Kimchee Tako Poke is one of my all time favorite food, and now I can have it in a roll for $1.69! Stoked!

Novus Swell S2W42: Josh Moniz

I sat down with 14 year old Josh Moniz since I've been getting a lot of requests for his profile. He's super shy and hate being in front of the camera but I got him!!

He's been surfing amazing, he traveled to France recently for Quiksilver King of the Groms for International Championship. He finished solid 5th in the world!

He's one of the groms to watch from Hawaii for sure. Can't wait to see where surfing will take him!

HSA event at Renicks

Yesterday was HSA contest at Renicks. the waves were going off at Kewalos point BUT at Renicks, waves were pretty small and weak. Too bad they couldn't hold it at the Point.

Kids surfed good tho. one kid who impressed me the most yesterday was Noah Beschen. He won the boys 11 and under division.

He was surfing unreal! he improved a lot from just 2 weeks ago when i saw him at the North Shore Menehune contest. He's turns were solid and complete like full on adult turns. it was like something clicked and he figured out the secret to solid turns.

Noah, what's the secret? i'm still trying to figure that out... i'm gonna go pick his brain next time i see him!

The waves were so good at the Point, many kids stayed after the contest and we ended up surfing all day.

long day, i think i was there for like 13 hrs total yesterday. had a great day!

Heat sheets for HSA Rennicks

I had stuff to do in town today so i stayed down here. i stopped by Kewalos after to check out how the waves are for tomorrow's contest at Rennicks.

It looked ok when i got there but decided to paddle out since i haven't surfed in a while.

The waves actually picked up and good after a while.

Heidi Choi and Joy Haynes. I haven't seen Heidi in so long since she's been busy with volleyball. it was really nice to see her.

Sister was there with her beast, Nala.

I'm telling you, this guy is a beast, well just to Zeke.

told you. ha ha.

Nala must have loved Zeke's truck. She (i think it's a she...) peed all over the truck's bed. haha.

I'm sure everyone heard that Kelly Slater won the Rip Curl Pro Search at Puerto Rico and secured his 10th World Title!

10x world champion, that is just nuts!

off of top of my head, i can think athletes who has 7 world titles, individual sports and not team sports.

Richard Petty (NASCAR), Dale Earnhardt Sr. (NASCAR) and Sebastien Loeb (WRC).

some people might count Lance Armstrong but cycling is not an individual sport. There are lot of team work goes into it (some of the legs are team events and even on individual legs, they do lot of blocking, drafting, etc) so i didn't count him in.

Sebastien Loeb is the only one who's still competing so he could get 10x world titles but still got 3 more to go. who know, Kelly might have 13 by then. haha. in case you are wondering what WRC is, its "World Rally Championship". Loeb has been dominating for a while now. he's been winning the titles since 2004 year after year.

So as far as i can think, there's been NOBODY in the world that hold 10 world titles in any individual sports but Kelly Slater. Amazing!

when i was driving today, i saw this one truck... can you see what's wrong?

well, that's a TOYOTA TACOMA with a huge Chevrolet on it. i know for a fact he didn't have a chevy engine in it (i've seen some people who've done the swap) cuz i didn't sound like a Chevy engine at all.

i have no idea why the guy did that... i was just thinking "hhmmmm... he just depreciated the value of that truck by half." ha ha.

tomorrow is an HSA event at Rennicks. I'll see you there!

oh, i'll take photos of the heat sheets and post it here on the site tomorrow. just so you don't need to be there at 7am if you are surfing at 3pm.
