Remember, age i'm talking about here is competitor's age as of Jan. 1st, 2012.
- Why do HSA divisions different than Surfing America divisions
i know people are wondering why HSA's divisions are 11& under, 12-13, 14-15, etc instead of Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, etc like Surfing America. They look different but they are same age divisions.
Surfing America's Under 12 divisions does NOT include 12yr old just like HSA's 11 & under because it's not "12 and under" its "Under 12". Same thing with all other divisions, Under 14 does NOT include 14, Under 16 does NOT include 16, etc.
-Can you surf UP divisions?
Yes as long as you pre-enter when you send in your entry or only if there are space if you are beach entering. You will not get points and you are not able to surf in the State Championships. BUT if you want to surf UP divisions at Surfing America National Championships, you will have priority over people who did not surf UP divisions during regular season.
That's all for now. If you have more questions, email me at novusswell@gmail.com. i'll try to answer it as soon as i can.
ALSO, this coming weekend's HSA event at Renicks will be on SUNDAY. One day event. See you there!
