here's the man, Mr. China Uemura! he's contests are always so much fun 'cuz he make them really family oriented.
ikaika kalama didn't win but i love the way he surf his SUP. he uses his paddle like it is extension of his arm. check out this photo, if it wasn't for his paddle, he'd fallen off the board.
oh yeah, and i think he's the best dressed SUP guy out there too. he always wear his hat and i've seen him out at the backdoor wearing his botton up shirt getting shacked!i love this angle! diamond head in the background and the lighting is perfect in the afternoon. only in waikiki!
on my way into the shore, i spotted tony (moniz) teaching surfing so i snapped a shot really quick. tony and his wife, tammy, own faith surfing school here in hawaii. they were voted "the best of honolulu" in surf lesson division by honolulu magazine this year.
not only tony gets you on waves, he sometimes get on the same wave and help the student while on the wave. don't ask me how he does it 'cuz when i push someone on a wave, there's no way i can catch up and catch the same wave...

the contest was over for the day but everyone stayed and enjoyed another day at the beach.

and of course, the girls. i want to see how many days straight i run into alyssa and sister. some days i pick alyssa up to go to the beach but even on days i don't, i usually run into these two all the time. ha ha left to right: megan godinez, alyssa wooten, kelia (sister) moniz.
